We're back from family vacation in the mountains and have now entered into the dead heat of summer. Weekends spent in the pool, frequent visits to the free local splash pad, and lots of time in doors is how the next few months are going to go.

I've slowed down on taking pictures and have traded it for unpacking boxes and getting settled into our new huge, fabulous house. I had no idea how much work it would be to move much less how much time it would taking to make a house feel like home. It's been wonderful and exhausting!

Seems like as a mom I always have a million things I want to be working on. Right now I'm working on prioritizing and making sure the most important things get done, like giving my little guy an extra hug as he runs past me, or setting everything down that I'm in the middle of when my hubby walks in the door to totally focus on him and let him know we're thrilled to see him. The little things matter and I keep reminding myself of this. It's ok if my bathroom goes without cleaning a few days longer than I'd like and I'm not cooking gourmet meals all the time (or most of the time for that matter!). I get overwhelmed trying to be super mom sometimes and get everything done that's on "the list" (I'm a total list maker) but it's just not going to happen. So today I'm enjoying being home, loving on my kids, and taking it a moment at a time.
